Mint Julep – To The Sea

Formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2007, Mint Julep is the husband-and-wife team of Keith and Hollie Kenniff. Subsequently relocating to Portland, Oregon, the duo cut a limited release album, Songs About Snow, in 2008 – effectively a trial run for further recording in their home studio, the fruit of which is follow-up Save Your Season, released in August 2011.

Mint Julep creates a mix between indie rock, early 90′s shoegaze and ambient electronic music, hallmarked by Hollie’s seductive, dreamy vocals and Keith’s vivid, glinting keyboards.

To The Sea is taken from their debut album.

Dry The River – The Chambers & The Valves

London’s five-piece Dry the River is a folk rock band formed in 2009 that consists of Peter Liddle, Will Harvey, Jon Warren, Matt Taylor and Scott Miller.

Based in a shared two-bedroom house in Stratford, east London, the five came together via circuitous geographical and musical routes. Musically the back-history is no less varied, with the band citing an esoteric list of influences – Leonard Cohen, At the Drive-In, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Devendra Banhart.

The Chambers and the Valves is the third single taken from their debut album Shallow Bed, which was released on March 5th.

Andrew Belle – Sky’s Still Blue

Andrew Belle is an American singer-songwriter residing in both Chicago and Nashville.

Belle grew up listening to bands like Third Eye Blind, Counting Crows, and The Verve Pipe, and looks to these bands for musical inspiration. He began his musical career towards the end of his time at University. Upon graduation, he launched his solo career in Chicago, performing at various local restaurants and venues.

Belle’s music and vocal stylings draw comparisons to Coldplay, The Fray and John Mayer. Fans and critics often refer to his songs as “smart pop”—nuanced melodies and contemplative lyrics coupled with bold, infectious hooks.

Sky’s Still Blue is the second song of The Daylight EP, released on Feb. 28th.

Deep Sea Arcade – Steam

Deep Sea Arcade’s reverberated pop recalls Portishead and The Zombies yet with a unique character and charm.

The band began as a songwriting and home recording project for founding members and school mates Nic McKenzie and Nick Weaver when they were in their mid teens. After years developing a large catalogue of demo recordings McKenzie and Weaver banded with guitarists Tim Chamberlain and Simon Relf and drummer Carlos Adura, giving the music an energy and scope that was previously out of reach.

Steam is taken from their debut album Outlands, released on March 16.
