Birds & Batteries – Be My Girl

Birds & Batteries is the experimental indie-pop project of Mike Sempert, Christopher Walsh,  Jill Heinke and Colin Fahrner based out of the Bay Area of California.

Never easy to categorize, Birds & Batteries continue to cut their own path of genre-less music, revered by some as alt-country garage, fuzzy synth psych, or electronic pop.

Be My Girl is taken from their fourth full-length album Stray Light, out now.

Casablanca – Yes

London’s Casablanca are seemingly destined for a career in indie-pop having been schoolmates with Bombay Bicycle Club, Cajun Dance Party and Theme Park. The ties run deeper with drummer Tom being the brother of Jamie MacColl of Bombay Bicycle Club. If that’s not enough, when formerly known as Lo-Fi Culture Scene, the then-quartet also supported the likes Foals, Bloc Party and The Maccabees while still at High School.

Now all grown up at the age of 18 years old, Casablanca are set to release their debut single Yes on September 17. Comparisons can be made to The Maccabees, Friendly Fires and Zulu Winter.
