Fenech-Soler – Magnetic

Fenech-Soler are a British electropop band from Kings Cliffe, Northamptonshire. The band consists of Ross Duffy, Ben Duffy, Daniel Soler and Andrew Lindsay. The name Fenech-Soler is taken from Daniel’s full surname, which is Maltese.

Brothers Ben and Ross had been making music on their home computer since their early teens, but in 2006 they decided to form a band, recruiting friends Daniel and Andrew. Citing Michael Jackson’s Dangerous as their main influence, the group began writing songs that they describe as “glam, psychedelic, zouk pop”.

Magnetic is taken from their upcoming second album, Rituals, out on 2 September.

I Am In Love – Palm

I Am In Love hails from from Leicestershire, in central England. The band formed in late 2010 after a previous band, Autohype, disbanded after two years together.

The band name is derived from the singer’s realisation that he is indeed in love and not just a boy who doesn’t know what love is. Their music is influenced by Prince, Bowie, Adam Ant, Freddie Mercury and bands like The Cure, Bloc Party, OMD and Foals.

Palm is their third single.

John Grant – Pale Green Ghosts

In 2009, members of Midlake joined Grant in the recording studio, serving as his backup band during the creation of his first solo project resulting in album Queen of Denmark.

Pale Green Ghosts is from his same-titled second album, set for release on March 11.

IYES – Lighthouse

IYES is a fresh project from Brighton-based electro duo, Josh and Melis, who only started 2 months ago. At this time, there’s not much more to tell about them as they prefer to stay in the shadows for now. No Facebook, no homepage, no nothing.

Lighthouse is the first (the xx-esque) single off their upcoming four track EP.
