Joe Banfi – Nomads

Joe Banfi (born November 1989) is a British singer/songwriter from Northwich, Cheshire.

Two albums that made a clear mark on the way he writes music are DeftonesWhite Pony and Nick Drake’s Five Leaves Left. The result is a strange, organic depth that both weighs you down and lifts you up simultaneously. In April 2012, he released Olive Green on Communion Records, the brainchild of musicians Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), Kevin Jones and producer Ian Grimble.

Nomads is the title track from his latest EP.

Keaton Henson – Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us

Keaton Henson is a 24 year-old songwriter from the suburbs of London. He spends his days alone writing, recording and drawing from his bedroom.

Henson originally recorded the songs that would become his debut album in his bedroom with the intention of giving them to his best friend as a gift. After some coaxing, he eventually posted a few songs online and after watching the responses to his music, decided he would release it as an album.

His second album, Birthdays, is confirmed for February 25. The album is produced by Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes) and features members of Band of Horses, The Raveonettes and Alberta Cross.

A.C. Newman – I’m Not Talking

Vancouver-based guitarist and singer/songwriter Allan Carl Newman broke into the Canadian music scene in the early ’90s as a member of alternative rock/grunge outfit Superconductor.

A longer stint with power pop group Zumpano followed in the mid-’90s, resulting in two well-received albums, but it wasn’t until Newman formed the New Pornographers in 2000 that his hook-filled guitar pop anthems became staples of the 21st century indie rock scene.

The Newman-led collective released a string of popular records over the next decade. Peppered in between were numerous solo projects from bandmembers Neko Case, Dan Bejar (Destroyer), and Newman himself, who released his solo debut, Slow Wonder, in 2004 and Get Guilty in 2009.

I’m Not Talking is taken from his third solo album Shut Down The Streets, which showcases a layered, often acoustic, Baroque and folk-pop sound.

Patrick Wolf – Overture

Patrick Wolf (born Patrick Denis Apps) is an English singer-songwriter from South London.

He started his musical education with violin lessons and church choirs and made his first theremin at age eleven. At sixteen he dropped his music A-Levels, which he was studying at Davies Laing and Dick Sixth Form College in Notting Hill Gate, and left home.

During this period he earned money from busking in a string quartet and formed a group called Maison Crimineaux. A gig was attended by electronic maestro Kristian Robinson (aka Capitol K), who would then go on to release Wolf’s debut album Lycanthropy. Five acclaimed albums later he has embraced everything from folk and baroque pop to Berlin-influenced techno.

Overture is taken from his sixth album Sundark and Riverlight. The album is a collection of his songs from the 2002 – 2012 catalogue, rearranged and re-recorded acoustically.
